Gurupurab celebrated with religious fervor across J&K

Srinagar, Jan 17: Gurpurab, the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, was on Wednesdaycelebrated with religious fervor and zeal across Jammu and Kashmir.

As per the INS, the main function was held at Gurdwara Chatipadshahi at Rainawari here.

Hundreds of Sikhs from across Kashmir visited the Gurdwara to join special prayers. Special prayers were held for the wet spell in Kashmir.

Special ‘langar’ were also organized for the devotees in Gurdwaras. Similar celebrations were also held in other local Gurdwaras including Jawahar Nagar, Allochibagh, Barzulla, Tral, Rangreth, Pattan and Baramulla and others.

Gurdwaras were beautifully decorated to mark the occasion. The Sikh community had also illuminated their respective houses in evening.

Several officials from the civil as well as police administration visited the Gurdwaras here.
