Rescue operation underway as man falls into 40-ft deep well in Tangmarg

Srinagar, Dec 28: A man fell into a 40-foot deep well in Tangmarg in Baramulla following which a rescue operation has been launched by jointly by locals, police and SDRF to bring out the man from the water source.

Reports reaching GNS said that one Bashir Ahmad Rather (47), son of Ghulam Mohammad, resident of Dhobiwan Barzulla in Kunzer Tangmarg fell into a well while cleaning it on Thursday morning.

The family alongside locals launched a rescue operation to save the man. Despite being joined by the Police and SDRF, the man is yet to be brought out of the well.

An F&ES official told GNS that they have intensified the rescue operation and have already reached almost thirty-three out of the forty-foot-deep well. “Good thing is that the trapped person is responding well and we hope to bring him out safely”, the official said.
