Kulgam, Dec 04: At least six labourrers from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district were killed in a road accident that took place in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh on Monday.

As per INS, in an official communiqué, the government spokesman said that six workers from Kulgam district died while as many were injured in a road accident in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh at 7am this morning.

The accident has taken place after a vehicle they were travelling in, fell into a gorge in Sunny Kangal Kararghat.

The deceased have been identified as Fareed Ahmad Deedar, (24), Gulam Hussain Gorsi (43), Shabir Ahmad Deedar, (19), Talib Hussain Tinda (23), Gulzar Ahmad Deedar (30), and Mushtaq Ahmad Dedar (30)—all residents of Kulgam district.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat expressed grief over deaths of Kulgam residents in a road accident at Shimla.

He said the district administration Kulgam is in touch with Shimla Administration for transportation of last remains of all the deceased to their native villages.

Meanwhile, the injured persons identified as Manzoor Ahmed S/O Bashir Ahmed Denda 20, Talib Hussain S/O Ab Gani Denda 23 both from Kulgam; Aslam S/O Ismail Deedar 24 from Anantnag and other injured are currently under treatment at the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMCH).
