Drug peddler arrested in Bla: Police

Baramulla, Nov 25: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday said to have arrested drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from his possession.

“A police party of Police Post Mirgund headed by Incharge Police Post Mirgund under the supervision of SDPO Pattan at a checkpoint established at Kripalgarh Singhpora intercepted a person identified as Adil Manzoor Sheikh son of Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh resident of Iqbal Colony Singhpora Pattan,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to INS.

During the search, 110 grams of contraband Charas Powder like substance was recovered from his possession. He had been arrested and shifted to Police Station Pattan where he remains in custody, police said.
Accordingly, police spokesman said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.

“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law,” the statement added.
