According to INS, Dr Naveed Nazir Shah, a leading pulmonologist, in a message amid the chilly weather conditions has said that the chest infection cases are usually increasing in winter period.

However, he said that there is a need to prevent such cases by taking proper care, adding that the people who are already suffering from any disease should get the proper consultation from their respective doctors so that they will get a proper advice from them.

Moreover, he said that the children and elderly people should not come out of their homes unnecessarily and wear proper clothes and protect their face and mouth whenever there is a need to come out.

“It has been witnessed that during winter period, people usually use heating gadgets at home and leaving less space for ventilation, which in result increases the cases. Therefore, there is a need to keep proper ventilation at home so that the rise in chest disease cases can be prevented,” he said.
