The raids were carried out at residential houses of two suspects namely Jamsheed Ahmad Bhat son of Mohammad Ashraf Bhat at Satoora and Sameer Ahmad Mohand son of Ghulam Mohammad Mohand at Shairabad Tral, SIU said in a statement.

“During the search, proper SOPs were followed and relevant information was gathered, incriminating material was recovered by the SIU Awantipora,” it said.

The searches, it said, were conducted to collect more evidence of their involvement in other terror crimes and were in connection with case (FIR No. 37/2022) of Police Station Tral.

“Searches are aimed to eliminate the (militant) ecosystem in the Police district by identifying various overground associates and supporters of (militancy),” it said, adding, “These raids will continue in future also for the logical conclusion of all UAPA cases.”
