Jammu, Nov 8 : Several people are feared dead after a private vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into River Chenab near Karara Premnagar, Doda this evening, officials said.

They said that soon after getting the information, a massive rescue operation was launched by Police, Army and local volunteers.

A police officer confirmed the plunging into the river of the small private vehicle. However he said the number of occupants in the vehicle was being investigated. “Whether there were four or five persons or lesser number of travellers in the vehicle is being ascertained,” he said, adding, “a massive rescue operation has been launched to trace them.”
