Srinagar, Oct 26: A soldier was injured during a gunfight with militants in Sheeri Chandoosa, a forest area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, on Wednesday.

A police officer said that a contact was established with the militants during a cordon and search operation launched by police and army in the woods.

In the initial exchange of fire, a soldier sustained bullet wound in leg and was shifted to nearby hospital for treatment. The operation was going on, he added.
