Srinagar, Sept 6: Two local Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants were killed in a gunfight at Poshkreeri area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag on Tuesday, police said.

Police identified the duo as Danish Bhat alias Kokab Duree and Basharat Nabi, both affiliated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. “Both were involved in killing of one TA personnel (Mohammed) Saleem (Akhoon) on 9 April 2021 and killing of two civilians (Shahnawaz Ahmad Bhat and Sanjeed Ahmad Parray )on 29 May 2021 in Jablipora,” police said in a tweet.
