Kupwara: Indian Army in coordination with Saksham Group under Spark Minda Foundation is organising a six-day artificial limb fitment camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara District.

The camp is being conducted from 22nd to 27 Aug, with an aim to help those needy locals for whom getting a artificial limb, wheelchair & hearing aid is beyond their financial means. Till now, 82 patients have been given medical care and 300 more will be benefitting from this camp in the coming days. Artificial limbs, wheelchairs, hearing aids, tri-cycles auxiliary crutches and hand sticks will be given to the needy through this camp.

People have hailed the efforts of the army saying they have extended a helping hand that was much needed.

“The camp came as a big relief and it has helped us a lot. The medical camp is a welcome step and we appreciate the hardwork Army and others have put in,” locals said.

The camp on its first day itself became instantly popular with people from the nearby districts. Specially-abled persons arriving at the camp are provided with suitable rehabilitation aids as per requirement of each person free of cost.
