Elderly man injured in bear attack in Uri

Uri, August 18: An elderly man was injured in a bear attack in Zamboor Patan area of Uri in Baramulla district on Thursday.

Official sources said that the man, Qalander Shah (around 70-year-old) son of Mehtab Shah suffered multiple injuries when bear attacked him while he was in his Behak (makeshift house especially for summers).  The injured was later shifted to GMC Baramulla, they said.

A police official confirmed the incident and said that Shah’s condition was ‘stable’.
