One person rescued, 9 others feared dead as cab fall into gorge near Zojila

Srinagar May 26: One person was rescued in injured condition while nine others are feared dead after the vehicle they were traveling in skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge along the Srinagar-Ladakh highway near Zojila on Thursday morning, officials said.

As per an official, the mishap took place early this morning when the passenger vehicle carrying ten passengers on way from Kargil to Srinagar skidded off the road and fell around 400-500 feet down into the deep gorge at Zojila.

In the accident, fate of nine people is still unknown, the official said.  Police, Army, Beacon and locals have reached the spot. Further details are awaited.
