J&K reports 2 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar, May 16: Jammu and Kashmir reported two new covid-19 cases while there was no death due to the pathogen in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.

They said that the one case each was reported from Jammu and Srinagar districts, taking the overall tally to 454148—166399 in Jammu and 287749 in Kashmir.

There was also no death due to the pathogen reported in the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4751 persons have succumbed to the virus—2328 in Jammu and 2423 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, six Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours and include three each from Jammu division and Kashmir Valley. So far 449345 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 51— 39 in Jammu and 12 in Kashmir.

The officials said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 7,270 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
