Uri, May 15: A 60-year-old man injured in an accident on the evening of May 12 succumbed to his wounds at SKIMS Soura in Srinagar, officials said on Sunday.

They said that the elderly identified as Ghulam Hassan Ganie of Boniyar Uri was hit and critically injured by a car on Srinagar- Muzaffarabad road near his native village on the evening of May 12.

He was shifted to PHC Boniyar wherefrom he was referred to GMC Baramulla. Later he was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for advanced treatment. However he succumbed to wounds at the tertiary care hospital late last evening, they said.

A police officer confirmed the death of the sexagenarian and said that a case has been already registered and the accused driver is already arrested.
