Srinagar, April 23: Two militants including a Pakistani of Jaish-e-Muhammad were killed in an ongoing encounter at Mirhama area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday.

“01 more (militant) killed (Total 02). Operation in progress. Further details shall follow,” police said in a tweet.

Earlier IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that one Pakistani militant of outfit JeM killed.  The encounter had ensued after a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the area.

As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, officials said the hiding militants fired upon the search party, leading to the encounter.
