4 militants killed In Shopian

Srinagar, April 14: Four militants were killed in an encounter at Badigam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday, officials said.

Official sources said a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Badigam amid inputs about militants’ presence.

As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. “Four (militants) were killed. Search going on. Further details shall follow,” police said.
