Srinagar, Jan 12 : A policeman and a JeM militant were killed while three army soldiers and two civilians were injured in Pariwan area Kulgam of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday evening.

Reports said that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Pariwan village.

As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off the gunfight.

IGP Kashmir said one police personnel SgCt Rohit Chhib and a JeM militant were killed while three Army soldiers got injured. “02 civilians also got minor injuries. Operation continues,” IGP Kashmir added.
