Srinagar: CCIK on Monday expressed concern over traffic jam in Srinagar city, saying that there is not a single cop deployed to man it in downtown Srinagar.
In a statement, CCIK president Tariq Ghani said traffic mess in Srinagar city has not only created chaos but has also affected business activities in main markets of the city.
CCIK said that road widening has turned into “PARKING” which has created huge traffic havoc on roads.
Ghani said, Srinagar city is not only civil lines but the major part of the city is SHER-E-KHAAS (downtown) which needs equal attention for smooth flow of traffic. Not even a single cop is found on roads of downtown doing the needful.
And if there is any traffic cop, they are busy in checking papers instead of looking at the traffic complications.
CCIK requests LG Manoj Sinha and IG TRAFFIC to look into the matter so that the common people of downtown do not suffer the same problem.
