Srinagar, Dec 8: Three militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba outfit were killed in an encounter with joint team of police and in Check-e-Cholan area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Wednesday.

Police said that identity of the slain militants was however yet to be ascertained.

Earlier as per police a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation the area.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off the gunfight.
