Night Temp Falls Across Kashmir, ‘Isolated Very Light Rain, Snow’ Forecast For Next 2 Days

Srinagar, Oct 31: Night temperature dropped across Kashmir Valley with famous Pahalgam resort recording minus 3.2°C, officials said on Sunday.

A meteorological department official here said that Srinagar recorded minimum temperature of 2.6°C against 2.9°C on the previous night.

Qazigund, the gateway town of Kashmir, recorded a low of 2.2°C against previous night’s 2.8°C, the official said.

Pahalgam, the famous resort in south Kashmir, recorded a low of minus 3.2°C against minus 2.0°C on previous night, he said.

Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 2.3°C against 3.3°C on previous night, the official said.

Kupwara town of the north Kashmir recorded a low of 0.7°C against 1.1°C on the previous night, the official said.

Gulmarg, the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 0.0°C same as on previous night, the official said.

The temperatures have fallen considerably after record rainfall and snowfall in some plains and upper reaches.

The MeT office has forecast mainly dry weather over Jammu and Kashmir in next 24 hours. For subsequent two days, “isolated very light rain/snow” has been forecast.
