J&K Reports 78 New Covid-19 Cases, 1 Death

Srinagar, Oct 20 : Jammu and Kashmir reported 78 new covid-19 cases even as one person succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Wednesday.

Among the fresh cases, 12 were reported from Jammu Division and 66 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 331299.

There was one death, from Kashmir Valley, due to the virus during the time. So far 4429—2175 in Jammu and 2254 in Kashmir—have died due to the pathogen, they said.

Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 48 cases, Baramulla 5, Budgam 9, Pulwama 0, Kupwara 1, Anantnag 1, Bandipora 1, Ganderbal 1, Kulgam 0, Shopian 0, Jammu 8, Udhampur 0, Rajouri 0, Doda 2, Kathua 1, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 0, Ramban 0 and Reasi 1.

A number of these cases were confirmed  at CD hospital and include male (35) from Bemina, male (30) from Srinagar, two  females (20, 36) from Ashai Bagh, male (12) from K K Mohalla, female (60) from Tailbal, male (79) and four females (39, 20, 49, 18) from Lal Bazar, two males (44, 60) and female (62) from Baghwanpora, female (15) from Botshah Mohalla, male (45) from Sopore, female (60) from Srinagar, male (30) and female (57) from Eidgah, female (15) from Aditragh Pul and male (46) from Srinagar, male (65) from Nishat.

Moreover, 80 COVID-19 patients recovered during the time, 10 from Jammu Division and 70 from Kashmir, they said.

So far 326070 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 800—127 in Jammu and 673 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 49 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.

The government also informed that 84,081 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
