2 covid-19 deaths, 75 fresh cases in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 18: Jammu and Kashmir reported 75 new covid-19 cases even as two persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Monday.

Among the fresh cases, 12 were reported from Jammu Division and 63 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 331137.

There were two deaths due to the virus during the time and one each was reported from Jammu and Kashmir divisions. So far 4428—2175 in Jammu and 2253 in Kashmir—have died due to the pathogen, they said.

Giving district wise details, the officials said that Srinagar reported 39 cases, Baramulla 10, Budgam 1, Pulwama 3, Kupwara 4, Anantnag 3, Bandipora 0, Ganderbal 1, Kulgam 2, Shopian 0, Jammu 7, Udhampur 0, Rajouri 0, Doda 3, Kathua 0, Samba 0, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 0, Ramban 1 and Reasi 1.

A number of these cases were confirmed at CD hospital’s diagnostic laboratory and include female (68) and male (59) from Srinagar, male (74) from Saida Kadal, male (37) from Hawal, male (60) from Sanatnagar, male (56) from Nowshera, male (70) from Habba Kadal and male (34) from Pandrethan.

Moreover, the officials said that 100 more patients have recovered—12 from Jammu Division and 88 from Kashmir. So far 325893 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 816 —130 in Jammu and 816 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 48 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.

The government also informed that 84,350 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
