Srinagar, Oct 12: A afresh gunfight between militants and joint team of police, army and CRPF has started in Feeripora area of Shopian, hours after the culmination of an overnight gunfight in the south Kashmir district’s Tulran area in which three militants were killed.

“Police & Security Forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” a police spokesman said in a tweet. The cordon-and-searches in the area were launched late last evening, sources said.

Earlier police said three militants were killed in the overnight gunfight with joint team of police, army and CRPF at Tulran area of the district.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on official Twitter handle said that out of three militants killed; one has been identified as Mukhtar Shah of Ganderbal who he said shifted to Shopian after killing “one street hawker Virendra Paswan of Bihar.”
