Srinagar, Oct 1: One militant was killed in a gunfight at Rakhama area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday.

Official sources said that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Rakhama amid inputs about the presence of the militants.

As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, they said, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off a gunfight. Police in a tweet claimed an unidentified militant was killed.
