Cop shot dead in militant attack in Kulgam

Srinagar, Sept 17: Militants shot dead a policeman in Wanpoh area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday.

A senior Police officer said that militants fired upon a railway constable identified as Bantu Sharma son of Nathji near Shamford School in the district late afternoon. He was shifted to nearby hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him brought dead. He was posted in railway station

Medical superintendent GMC Anantnag Dr. Iqbal Sofi said that the cop was declared brought dead on arrival to the hospital.

Soon after the attack whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
