A Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by DySP Hq, Rajouri has been constituted for speedy investigation of the case on merits. Based on investigation by the SIT under the direct supervision of Addl SP Hq Rajouri, Vivek Shekhar, technical data was examined and witnesses were examined.

“Based on leads developed, the following suspects were identified and arrested – namely, (1) Rajan Sharma, s/o Vijay Kumar, r/o Chingus; (2) accused no. 2, name withheld until age is verified, r/o Sangpur; (3) Priya Bakshi, d/o Bachan Lal, r/o Chakli, ” he said.

Based on sustained questioning, it came to light that the accused Rajan and Priya were in a relationship, to which the deceased had objected repeatedly and often forcefully.
