Srinagar: Attendants in need of oxygen for patients entered into a scuffle at Shri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) hospital on Saturday during oxygen cylinders distribution.

A video has went viral on social media, in which the attendants could be seen fighting over the distribution of the oxygen cylinders.

Medical Superintendent SMHS Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh told INS that some attendants attempted to snatch oxygen cylinders by illegally stopping the vehicle carrying bulk cylinders even before it had reached the store of the Hospital.

“Other than Oxygen supply from the Hospital Oxygen Generation plants , additional oxygen supply(wherever required) is made through Bulk O2 cylinders to the patients as per prescription of the Doctor concerned,” he said.

Singh said that the Hospital also maintains Buffer stock to meet any exigencies. SMHS Hospital Administration has taken cognisance of the attempt at hoarding by some attendants.
