Residents of the area said that in past two days three members of the teaching staff tested positive, triggering fear in the locality. “The school must be closed as a precautionary measure and to contain spread if any,” they said.

Mushtaq Ahmad Ganai, a resident said that since the school falls under the micro containment zone, it should be closed. “It doesn’t make any sense to keep school open in micro containment zone. It is risking lives of the staff members who come from different areas as well,” he said.

Another resident claimed that since staff members have contracted Coronavirus, it must be closed, so to contain the spread to other staff members and the locality.

“When vice chancellor of Kashmir University tested positive entire university was closed down. Here the locality has been declared as micro containment zone and yet the school activity is going on full swing. We demand the closure of school,” said Aarif Bashir who lives nearby.
