Srinagar: Shikara is now not just limited to lakes. In a unique and most innovative way Shikara is now displayed on Srinagar Airport baggage Conveyor Belt which is to give welcome feel and selfie point to the tourist. Shikara is designed in a way that it resembles the true culture and tradition of Kashmir with traditional handcraft wooden carving on it by the local Kashmiri Artistan Wood King. Shikara measures about 60FT long with bed of various kashmiri flowers displayed on the nose of Shikara.

Shikara show window project is conceptualized and executed by Master Concessionaire of Airport advertising company M/S Orango Solutions who hold dual portfolio of both Jammu and Srinagar Airport. The project is sponsored by Punjab Government to give tribute to its 9th GURU Guru Tep Bahadhur Ji on the grand celebration of 400 years of Prakash Purabh on multiple advertisement TVs displays installed on conveyor belt.

Project was inaugurated by Arvind Singh Ji (X-Chairman AAI) in the presence of Airport Director and Navneet Singh (Director Airport Advertising).

Navneet Dhingra, Director of Orango Solutions, who incidentally has the advertisement rights for both Srinagar and Jammu Airports says that “by creating this innovative display of Shikara, we are trying to showcase to world that the moment you set foot in Kashmir you start feeling the magic of Kashmir. It’s a way of welcoming our guests and they can treat this installation as a selfie opportunity to announce to the world that they have landed in a happy and safe place”.
