Protest in south Kashmir college as undertrial student appears in exams

Srinagar, Mar 31: Protests erupted at Government Degree College Tral in Pulwama district of south Kashmir after an undertrial youth, enrolled in the college, was brought by police for appearing in the ongoing undergraduate exams.
Reports said that soon after a police vehicle appeared in the college premises with the youth, arrested for his alleged involvement in some militancy related incident, a group of students started to raise slogans in favour of the colleague, demanding his release.
Later, as soon as the exam was over, some students allegedly resorted to stone pelting.
Meanwhile a police official while talking to a local news agency said that the particular student studies in 5th Semester and was brought to the college for appearing in the exam. “Some miscreants resorted to stone-pelting towards end of the session,” the official said adding that “We have so far arrested three of them.”  (agencies)
