Srinagar, Mar 30: The Municipal Councilor who was injured in an alleged militant attack in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has succumbed to his injuries, taking the death toll in the yesterday’s attack to three.

Official sources said the councilor Shams-ud-Din Peer was admitted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar. However he succumbed to the injuries during the night.

Earlier two persons including a Municipal Councilor namely Reyaz Ahmad and a policeman Shafqat Nazir Khan were killed as militants fired “indiscriminately upon the Municipal Councilors near Lone Building opposite SDH Sopore”, on Monday afternoon.
