Srinagar, March 25: A paramilitary CRPF trooper was killed and three others injured in an attack by militants in Lawaypora in outskirts of Srinagar on Thursday afternoon, officials said.

“The CRPF personnel from 73 battalion where discharging ROP duties when they were attacked by some militants at Dilshan hotel and Noora hospital area. Four of them were injured and one of the succumbed later,” OPS Tiwari, a spokesman of CRPF, told said.

“As of now, I cannot comment about the level of injuries suffered by them as they are being admitted to the 92 base army hospital,” he added.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar said that one CRPF man was killed and three others injured in the attack.

Meanwhile entire area was cordoned off immediately to nab the fleeing militants, official said. When this report was filed, no arrests were made, they added.
