Srinagar, Dec 30: Two more militants were killed in an overnight gunfight in Hokarsar Lawaypora area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district, officials said on Wednesday.
Police said that while one militant was killed earlier, two more of his associates were neutralized, taking the total number of the militants killed so far to three. Their identity is established, a police officer said.
The operation, police said, was suspended due to darkness last night.
Earlier a joint team of Police, army’s 02 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Hokarsar Lawaypora amid specific inputs about the presence of the militants there.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
