Srinagar, Dec 29: A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces in Hokarsar area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Tuesday evening. Reports said that a joint team of Police, army’s 2 RR and CRPF launched a joint cordon-and-search operation in Hokarsar amid specific information about the presence of the militants. As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight. A senior police officer confirmed the exchange of fire.
