Srinagar, Dec 24: A militant was killed in a gunfight in Wanigam Payeen area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Official sources said that after eight hours into Cordon-and-search-operation searches in Wanigam area, the militants were tracked and subsequently “contact established”. During exchange of firing one unidentified militant has been killed so far, they said.
Earlier in the morning some speculative fires were also shot towards the suspected spot, however there was no response from militants. When this report was filed, firing was going on.
