Srinagar, Nov 13: The government of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday constituted a committee headed by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir to manage opening and closure of the Zojila pass.
The four member committee also comprises divisional commissioner Ladakh and deputy commissioner Ganderbal as members and deputy commissioner Kargil as member secretary respectively.
“The Committee shall meet as and when required to take decisions on the opening and closure and all other related matters to Zojila pass,” reads an order issued by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi (Commissioner/Secretary to the Government) in compliance with the orders by the lieutenant governor of the J&K. It could not be immediate verified whether the J&K government can pass orders to have officers of UT of Ladakh as members of a committee constituted by it.
