Srinagar, Oct 17: One Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed in encounter with government forces in Larnoo area in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Official sources that an AK-47 was also recovered from slain militant’s the possession. The identity and the group affiliation of the slain militant was yet to be ascertained, they said.
Earlier, a joint team of Police and army’s 19RR launched a cordon and search operation in Larnoo.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
