Covid-19 Claims Two More Lives, J&K Toll 135

Srinagar, Oct 07: Jammu and Kashmir reported 12 more covid-19 related deaths in last 24 hours, taking that total count to 1284, officials said on Wednesday.
Among the deceased, five belonged to Kashmir Valley and seven to Jammu division—three from winter capital of J&K, two to Rajouri and one each to Doda and Samba, they said.
Among others, the victims from Jammu include a 52-year-old from Jeewan Nagar, a 67-year-old from Kotli Shah Doula and a 62-year-old from Roop Nagar Jammu.
Among others who died in Valley include a 45-year-old man from Pulwama and a 70-year-old from Meeraq Shan Abad Shalimar.
Regarding the man from Pulwama, they said that he was admitted on October 6 at hospital here and died today.
The septuagenarian, they said, died at SMHS hospital, five days after he was admitted with bilateral community acquired pneumonia, a doctor at the hospital said.
With these deaths, officials said, 1884 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir so far—884 from the Valley and 402 from Jammu division.
Srinagar district with 310 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (209), Baramulla (126), Budgam (88), Pulwama (73), Kupwara (71), Anantnag (69), Kulgam (43), Bandipora(40), Shopian (32), Rajouri (32), Ganderbal (30), Doda (37), Kathua (28), Samba (23), Udhampur (21), Poonch (17), Ramban (11), Kishtwar(11) and Reasi (6).
