Srinagar: Secretary Youth Services & Sports, Sarmad Hafeez today reaffirmed that YSS is actively involved in pre-B2V-3 programme of Jan Abhiyan/Awami Muhim so that different sporting activities would be conducted across all J&K Panchayats.
In his message on the formal launch of Jan Abhiyan of his department, Sarmad stated that the third phase of Back to Village (B2V-3) is commencing from October 2 and will conclude on October 12 where all the gazetted and other officers are going to visit every Panchayat to listen to the people’s issues and problems and resolve them on the spot.
“This time, prior to B2V-3 we are going to conduct a 21-day Jan Abhiyan/Awami Muhim which has already started where our officers, Deputy Commissioners, Rural Development Department officers and officers of other departments will make people aware about social schemes and also take notice of the developmental work in every Panchayat. In this phase we have Jan Sunvayi, Unnat Gram and Adhikar Abhiyan where the visiting officers will identify local beneficiaries and other developmental issues for their resolution,” He said.
He informed that YSS department is also holding myriad sporting activities at all Panchayat levels across J&K and during Jan Abhiyan several playgrounds in different Panchayats will be identified and the necessary work, if any, would be taken up.
“For this the government has also released an amount of Rs 20,000 to each Panchayat for buying sports equipment so that village youth would be able to participate in different sports activities,” he said.
He added: “I hope that this program would be successful as YSS department, an important part of this campaign, is actively involved and all YSS employees will jointly work with Panchayats to make Jan Abhiyan a huge success.”
