Srinagar, Sept 07: A senior national conference leader and former legislator Thakur Rachpal Singh was among 18 more persons who died due to covid-19 in last 24 hours, taking the fatality count to 806.
Official sources said that among the victims, ten were from Kashmir Valley and eight others from Jammu division.
Among those who succumbed to the virus in J&K Include three each from Srinagar and Baramulla besides one each from Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Budgam.
Regarding Jammu, they said, four of the victims were from winter capital of the J&K two from Rajouri and one each from Kathua and Doda.
They said 69-year-old Singh, a resident of Sialsui village of Kalakote in Rajouri, was admitted to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Superspeciality hospital at Kakriyal in Reasi on September 5 after testing positive for the virus, they said.
He was suffering from fever, cough and also complained of breathlessness, they said.
“He breathed his last after suffering a massive heart attack in the early hours of Monda.”
They said a 74-year-old from Jagati Colony Jammu died at super specialty hospital where was shifted to from at GMC Jammu, eight days after he was admitted with hypertension, type2 diabetes mellitus, hypothroism, CKD and severe left ventricular dysfunction.
They said a 58-year-old woman, diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, DKA with bilateral community acquired pneumonia died last night at GMC Jammu.
They said 72-year-old man from Krishna Colony Kathua who was admitted to Chest Disease Hospital and diagnosed with Bilateral CAP with covid-19 positive died last night.
They said a 73-year-old man from Bhaderwah in Doda district died at Chest Disease Hospital Jammu, four days after he was admitted to the hospital. “He was suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus and hyperthyroidism and died late last night,” a doctor at the hospital said.
The doctor said 1 78-year-old man from Jewel Canal Road Jammu died at GMC Jammu, a week after he was admitted as a case of “chronic liver disease, portal hypertension, acute kidney infection, repiratory distress and hepato biliary syndrome.“the patient died at 7.30.a.m.”
Official sources said that a-55-year-old Boniyar Uri who was admitted at a hospital here and diagnosed with bilateral CAP died today.
Also, they said a 63-year-old woman from Tral Pulwama died at SKIMS Bemina, one of the exclusive facilities for the covid-19 patients. She was admitted to the hospital on September 1 and died today, they said.
They said a 73-year-old from Parranpillan Uri died at around 8:30 hours today. “He was diagnosed with T2DM, HTN,multiple myeloma,BHP and bilateral CAP.”
A 70-year-old from Watergam Baramulla as case of “severe Covid pneumonia” died a after he was admitted to the SMHS hospital here. “He died at around 6:30 a.m. today,” they said.
A 65-year-old woman from Raujori Jammu, admitted on September 4, died at SKIMS Soura today.
She was suffering from “T2DM, Peritoneal collection with access with septic shock with MODS and COD.”
With these deaths, officials said, 806 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir so far. Among them, they said, 699 were from the Valley while 106 others from Jammu division.
Srinagar district with 240 deaths tops the list followed by Baramulla (108), Budgam (66), Pulwama (59), Anantnag (53), Kupwara (54), Jammu (67), Kulgam (39), Shopian (29), Bandipora (26), Ganderbal (25), Kathua (10), Rajouri (8), Doda (6), Poonch (5), Udhampur (4), Samba (4) and Ramban (1).
