Rs 35000 fine recovered from food business operators in Srinagar

Srinagar: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Monday imposed a fine of Rs 35000 on nine Food Business Operators for violating different provisions of Food Safety and Standards Act.
Those fined include bakers, milk vendors and restaurant owners. The complaints against them were filed by Food Safety Officers from different zones of District Srinagar.
The officer said Twenty six fresh complaints have also been filed before against Food Business Operators for violation of Food Safety and Standards Act.
On the occasion, Commissioner Food & Drugs Administration J&K Mr Shakeel Ur Rahman directed all Food Business Operators to adopt good hygienic practices within their premises otherwise stern action under law shall be initiating against them.
