Srinagar, Aug 17: Two paramilitary CRPF personnel and an SPO were killed after suspected militants attacked a joint Naka party in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday.
A senior police officer said that militants fired upon the Naka party. The fire was retaliated by forces triggering off a brief encounter.
During exchange of firing, one SPO identified as Muzaffar Ahmad was killed on the spot and two CRPF troopers were injured and subsequently shifted to a nearby hospital, the officer said. Later the injured paramilitary men succumbed to the injuries, the officer added. The area has been cordoned off and searches are going on.
