Srinagar, August 13: Two persons were killed and at least two others were injured in an accident involving a dumper vehicle and swift vehicle near Galander Pampore in Pulwama district.
The accident also led to suspension for some time of the traffic on Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting the Kashmir valley with the outside world.
Official sources said that a swift vehicle came under a dumper vehicle (JK03F-8232) near Galander and how it happened was being investigated.
They said two persons have died in the accident and of the deceased has been identified as Raja Ahmad, around 20 years of age, son of Jameel Ahmad of Kansar Reasi Jummu. The identity of second victim was being ascertained, the official said. Two more persons— Rafakat Ahmad Chachi (25) son of Bashir Ah chachi of Dangerpora Noorpora Awantipora and Mashooq Ahmad Khanday son of Mohammad Ramzan of Tazipora Mohammad Pora Kulgam were injured and have been hospitalized, they said.
Meanwhile, the traffic on the strategic thoroughfare was resumed after the authorities removed vehicles from near the accident spot, they added.
