Spread awareness on efficacy of Indian System of Medicines among people: DC Ganderbal

Ganderbal: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal on Tuesday inspected the Community Level camp organized by the Department of Ayurveda Yoga and Naturopathy Unani Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) at Saloora Ganderbal.
While visiting the camp, the DC enquired about the medicines available including immunity boosters and general medicines.
He also interacted with the people there who appreciated the district administration for organizing such camps where they get free “COVID medicines and general medicines for other ailments.”
The District AYSUH Officer, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad informed the DC that during the camp medicines are being provided to boost the immune system of people to combat COVID-19.
He also informed the DC that people are also made aware about the importance of following SOPs related to COVID-19 like maintaining social distancing, using face masks and frequent handwashing.
During the day long camp more than 1500 beneficiaries were given treatment by the team of doctors besides free Immunity booster kits and general medicines.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC urged the District AYSUH Officer to organize more such camps in other parts of the district to combat Covid-19 pandemic besides carry special awareness programmes for spreading the efficacy of Indian System of Medicines in these times of pandemic among people.
Pertinent to mention here, District AYSUH Officer has organized above 140 camps in which about 35878 beneficiaries were benefited.
