Mir Showkat
Ganderbal: Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal and Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba , the district administration on Saturday initiated intensive demolition drive in Ganderbal Town. A demolition drive was carried out by a team of officers/officials comprising Tehsildar Ganderbal, SHO Ganderbal and other concerned.
Various permanent and temporary structures were demolished by the team including two storey structure which was raised illegally by some unscrupulous elements along the Sindh Nallah while taking advantage of the prevailing situation. On the occasion the DC warned all such persons to refrain from the illegal constructions and appealed to obtain building permission from the concerned authority before taking up any constructions in the district.
Pertinently, district administration has issued strict warnings to encroachers in all tehsils of the district. The encroachers have been instructed to voluntarily vacate government and kacharai land under their occupation failing which the administration has warned of initiation of criminal proceedings as part of land retrieval proceedings.
