Srinagar: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Khan today e-inaugurated two government portals for tracking procurement for government works and grievances of citizens.
The Advisor e-launched Inventory Management System (IMS) and Jan Nigrani (Mobile App), both e-governance initiatives by Rural Development Department & Panchayati Raj in collaboration with J&K e-Governance Agency, IT Department.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Khan complimented the RDD Secretary and IT Department for the e-governance portals and maintained that the initiatives will not only take down the incidents of complaints but bring transparency in the system besides providing every minute detail regarding procuring for government works like MGNREGA, SBM, PMAY or other government programmes and schemes being run through RDD&PR.
He added that Jan Nigrani App would will keep track of the complaints besides keeping in check the fake complaints.
He also opined that the department should get oriented with the interface and should use it for the benefit of people and the government alike.
Giving a brief about the portals, Secretary RDD&PR, Sheetal Nanda via video conferencing said that the IMS is software and will enable to manage and track all inventory like, material, labour, expenses etc in a transparent manner. She informed the Advisor that the main objective of the purpose is to monitor and keep checks and balances of all government works. She also informed that it will stop false and bogus procuring and streamline the system and prioritize works at each Panchayat level.
It was also given out that Panchayat with 20 per cent material available will not be eligible for further procurement through the system.
Likewise, about Jan Nigrani Mobile App, Advisor Baseer Khan was informed that the grievance application has been set at the lowest level (Block Development officer) with a seven-day time slot to redress any particular grievance.
If the grievance, he was told, is not addressed within the stipulated time the complaint will automatically move to the next higher level for redressal.
The mobile app will also check bogus or false complaints and can be downloaded from Google and Play Store of Android software.
