Injured Sarpanch Succumbs To Injuries In Anantnag

Anantnag, June 8: A 35-year-old Sarpanch who was shot and critically injured in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday afternoon succumbed to injuries.
Official sources said the Sarpanch identified as Ajay Panditha of Dooru was fired upon by the gunmen near Lokbawan Larkipora. He was rushed to GMC Anantnag where he was declared brought dead, apparently succumbing to the injuries on way to hospital.
Dr Majeed Mehrab, medical superintendent GMC Anantnag confirmed said that the 35-year-old was brought dead.
A police officer also confirmed that gunmen killed the Sarpanch. The officer said that the area has been cordoned off and searches have been launched to nab the attackers.
