LAWDA demolishes 8 illegal constructions

SRINAGAR: A demolition drive was launched by the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority under the supervision of Enforcement Officer in the Baghwanpora, LalBazar, NFR, Ishber, Laam and upper Braine Manzgam areas in which 08 illegal constructions aqnd structures were demolished including 02 third storey houses, 02 second storey houses,02 tin wallings, one roofing and one shop.
The LAWDA authorities said that amid Covid-19, when there is lockdown everywhere the unscrupulous persons are taking undue advantage and indulging in illegal constructions but such elements will not be allowed to violate the laws and raise illegal constructions.
Moreover, the authorities have asked all the people residing within the LDA jurisdiction not to go for any sort of illegal constructions and encroachments. As the Enforcement wing will continue with demolition of illegal constructions.
Moreover the Tripper and Load carrier owners have been directed not to carry any type of illegal construction material in the prohibited area of Dal and Nigeen Lake without proper permission from the concerned agencies.
