Srinagar: One among the injured CRPF soldiers in Sopore has died, taking the number of paramilitary personnel killed in the attack to three on Saturday.
Two paramilitary CRPF personnel were killed earlier and three others including a driver had suffered injuries in the militant attack in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday afternoon. Reports said that the militants opened fire on a joint party of CRPF and Police at Noorbagh.
“In the incident, five paramilitary troopers sustained injuries,” they said.
The injured were evacuated to nearby SDH hospital were two CRPF men were declared brought dead on arrival while another was injured.
A local news agency quoted Director General of Police (DGP) J&K, Dilbagh Singh (IPS) that CRPF troopers were attacked while on duty. The top police officer also confirmed the killing of three personnel and injuries to two others.
Meanwhile, soon after the attack, security forces launched searches in the area to nab the attackers and when this report was filed no arrest was made while “operation was going on.”
