Div Com visits Bandipora, takes stock of COVID-19 control measures

 BANDIPORA: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K. Pole today visited Bandipora district to review the measures being taken by the district administration for prevention and control of COVID-19.
He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, Superintendent of Police, Rahul Malik, OSD, Coronavirus Control, Owais Ahmad and officers from Div Com office besides other concerned officials of Health and Medical Education departments.
At Hajin that witnesses four positive cases, recently,the Divisional Commissioner reviewed arrangements put in place by the administration including quarantine facility centres. He emphasized on adopting preventive measures besides synergizing efforts for identifying all persons having travel history to the Coronavirus affected regions and also those who were in contact with the patients who tested positive.
Later, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir visited various quarantine facility centers in the district established for suspected Covid-19 patients.
He inspected round the clock facilities available at these centers including adequate staff, equipments, ambulances, bedding, proper sanitation and other facilities.
On the occasion he interacted with staff and enquired about the well being of the quarantined persons. Interacting with doctors deployed at these centres and enquired about the present status of quarantine and screening of the patients.
He asked the concerned officials to work with dedication and ensure that all the facilities are made available to the people being quarantined at these centers and directed them to take all precautionary measures to contain the infection.
The Div Com said with the active cooperation of the district administration, it would be ensured that evolving situation raised due to spread of COVID-19 is tackled effectively.
He also visited the Control Room established by the district administration at CMO Office Bandipora and inspected the functioning of the control room. He appreciated the staff and urged them to maintain proper record of every call received at the control room and the action taken report on each and every query.
On the occasion Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora informed the visiting officers regarding the preventive measures and steps taken by district administration to prevent the spread of corona virus in the district. He said 290 travellers and foreign returned citizens have been put under surveillance out of which 161 are under home quarantine while 129 are under administrative quarantine. He said 19 quarantine centres have been established in the district with a capacity of 730 beds.
PK Pole said that health officials must maintain a constant watch on cases and immediate reporting and shifting of those who might develop Covid-19 symptoms is of very important.
Divisional Commissioner stressed on dealing with the situation as per the recommended guidelines and operating procedures and said that everyone has to play their role in combating the deadly disease.
He urged people to cooperate with the administration and be well-informed about all precautions that need to be followed to prevent spread of the infection.
